I come here all the time when I’m in town. This place is beyond words. The food is fantastic. The pickled veggies, the katsu, the miso, and basically everything on the menu is delicious. Huge portions and you get so much bang for your buck. The family and staff that run this place are so kind and wonderful and whenever I go here I always feel so special. Now if you’re not getting one of their amazing drinks you’re missing out and I’m telling you if you want non alcoholic you get the lilikoi lemonade. I’m not telling you what to do but make sure you check their Facebook for specials because each day they’ve got something new and tasty. Need I say pork kimchi potstickers. Those were fire! Now you can’t go wrong here, just be prepared to get there a little early because this place fills up! It’s popular and for good reason. Also soft shell crab on top of a seafood fondue? Stop ! Because it’s a foodgasm and yes another special. Shout out to the staff, the food, and this is a toppppppppp food destination so get your butt over there :)
Really chill and friendly vibe. Service was friendly and professional at a no rush pace. The Spicy Tuna and The Big Money roll were excellent. Portion sizes and quality exceeded our expectations. We will be back!
Mikey at The Ponu Hukilau really took care of us! This was our second time here and it always gets better. Fresh seafood and great cocktails!
I have traveled all over the world and I had the best meal of my life here. The food is delicious, drinks are interesting, the atmosphere is unique and you’re treated like a local. You have to try the house clam chowder, better than the what was voted the best clam chowder in Boston, I’m taking some back home. The Chef/owner is very friendly as is his daughter who served me. I have found my new favorite restaurant. Too bad I live in Miami. Do yourself a favor and come here if you’re in the area.
I felt like I was in Hawaii! Great quality of food. We had Fried Rice(best Ive ever had!), spam musubi(huge!), and a plate lunch...teriyaki chicken and pork with 2 scoops rice, 1 scoop Mac salad. 10/10!
Pono Hukilau is a hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a perfect island vibe that transports you straight to Hawaii. The food? Absolutely incredible! I had the Loco Moco, and it was hands-down the best I’ve ever tasted—savory, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. My wife ordered the macadamia nut pancakes, and they were a masterpiece—light, fluffy, and topped with just the right amount of sweetness. The service was fantastic, too. Friendly staff, great attention to detail, and a genuine aloha spirit throughout the experience. If you’re looking for authentic Hawaiian food and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, Pono Hukilau is the place to go. We can’t wait to come back and try more of their amazing dishes!
This place is unbelievably good! My friends took me here to show me how special it is, and boy I was surely impressed. The food is off the charts delicious . The atmosphere and decor is about as kooky as you would expect for a coastal beach like restaurant. However, this place took over what used to be the harvest cafe. If you are traveling through Florence, Oregon, do yourself a favor and stop in for an unforgettable foodie experience. Keep in mind, they're closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
It can be a bit of a wait, but the theme is held up in the final product. Everyone in my party enjoyed what they got, even though it took quite awhile from when we sat down to actually get everything. However, they had an extensive help wanted sign in the window, so they may have been short staffed that night. Our server was friendly and enthusiastic, though, so that made up for a lot. The pickled ginger on the vacation burger overpowers the pineapple and some of the other flavors rather than complementing them, I felt, but it was still a delicious burger. My one regret was eating too much dinner and having no room for the delicious sounding specialty dessert on the menu. The Lava Flow was also pretty good, but I'd probably try something else next time.
